Faculty of Animal Science was founded in 1948 at Arad, and in 1955 was transferred to Timisoara.
In academic year 1992/1993 was founded within the Faculty of Animal Science the study program "Agricultural Biotechnologies", for which the faculty has become "Faculty of Animal Science and Biotechnology".
In academic year 2001/2002 was founded the study program "Pisciculture and Aquaculture".
According to HG 158/29 March 2018 the Faculty of Animal Science and Biotechnology changed its name to Bioengineering of Animal Resources
Presently the Faculty of Bioengineering of Animal Resources operates with two study programs: Animal Science (full time) and Agricultural Biotechnologies (full time). Duration is 4 years for all full-time specialization.
