MASTERS STUDIES PROGRAM MISSION

 
 "Design and technical -economical evaluation of animal production"
 
Through it’s mission and objectives (education and scientific research), master's study program proposes to deepen knowledge and skills in undergraduate studies (in the field of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, Animal Science domain, specialty Design and technical - economical evaluation of animal production).
 
The proposed master study program aims at training specialists at a high level of training, level that is planned to be achieved by increasing the expertise and research capacity in animal science and rural development.
 
Assumed mission can be accomplished by training graduate students in thoroughgoing study of technical ways, methods and modern means of evaluation, optimization and profitability of specific technologies used in the production of milk, meat, eggs and skins from animals.
Upon completion of the master specialization, graduates will be able to systematize and to use the knowledge acquired so that they can evaluate, design and apply in practice at a scientifically level, the most modern methods of dairy, meat, eggs and animal fur production.
 
 
STUDY OBJECTIVES OF THE MASTER
 
During the Master's specialization, topics presented at lectures and practical applications and during the evaluation and designing of various technologies, have as purpose that students gain general knowledge and skills, as well as specific cognitive abilities.
 
Regarding the general knowledge, master students should be familiar with the latest and the best information in the relevant field should acquire specific skills of independent research and have the ability to apply theoretical knowledge and information in real, concrete situations.
 
During the Master studies, students must accumulate a significant amount of new specialized knowledge, so that they can address, identify and solve new cognitive and professional problems. Also, the master student must develop the ability to compare and analyse new specialized knowledge with previously learned knowledge.
 
Based on general knowledge and on the newly acquired specialty knowledge, master students will be able to creatively apply, the latest achievements of research in animal science. They will also acquire specific skills to coordinate the working groups, to collaborate with other working groups in different contexts and to act independently in addressing and solving problems, objectively and constructively assess critical situations and statuses, as well as to solve specific problems and to demonstratively communicate the results.
 
Regarding the specific cognitive skills, master students must be able to critically evaluate the results of new research, in order to formulate interpretative and demonstrative alternatives to these results. Also, the graduates of this type of specialization will be able to design, optimize and manage domain-specific processes.

• Animal production genetics and optimization of animal breeding programs
 
• Animal feeding management and crop science management
 
• Buildings, equipment and facilities used in animal production
 
• Biosecurity and farm animal welfare
 
• Entrepreneurship, specific legislation, economical-financial design and evaluation of animal production
 
 
Optional subjects 1:
 
• Design and technological assessment of milk and meat production in cattle
 
• Design and technological assessment of milk and meat production in sheep and goats
 
 
Optional subjects 2:
 
• Design and technological assessment of meat production in swine
 
• Design and technological assessment of meat and eggs production in poultry
 
• Design and technical evaluation for meat and fur in rabbits and fur animals
